Woodsy + Rustic Adirondacks Lake Wedding in New York

Back in September, I got to be a part of Nick + Elizabeth’s big-ass lakefront family wedding in New York. When I first met with Elizabeth to talk about her wedding, she told me it would be at her family’s cabin on the lake in upstate New York, a place where they have been going to for decades, so it only made sense that they’d have their big celebration here too. I pictured a cute little cabin with a view of the Adirondacks, but when I arrived there, I learned so much more about the history—back in the day, the property used to be a Jewish girls’ summer camp, which Elizabeth’s mother + siblings bought and turned it into a place all of their families could escape to up at the lake. Bunk cabins, and an old mess hall, all decorated from top to bottom with vintage knick knacks (I think I literally said I wanted to shop the walls of their cabins…haha) which they incorporated into a lot of their wedding decor.

Family + friends came up during the week of the wedding to pitch in to set things up and decorate, but also leaving plenty of time for pre-celebrations and getting out on the lake. They had the ceremony overlooking Schroon Lake, and filled a candle-lit tent for an intimate dinner hosted by the the father of the bride, accompanied by so many heartfelt speeches to the bride and groom. They poured so many personal details into their day + not only married each other, but married two wild families into one.

This was such a fun fall wedding to be a part of, scroll through to see some of my favorite moments from the day—
