Modern Boho Southwestern Elopement—Sedona, AZ

It was springtime, and I was headed out to Arizona to visit my parents in Sedona. At the time, I was still working my full-time job with a&bé bridal shop, so I thought of this trip as the perfect opportunity to organize a styled shoot + bring along a gorgeous gown with me—But first, I needed to find a couple to be my models! I put out my request to the socials, and got an excited response from my childhood best friend, Jessie.

Jessie and her fiancé Sky met out in Denver and moved to the Phoenix area to be closer to their family, so when they heard I was headed to their neck of the woods they said they’d be happy to play dress up for me! Jessie and I have such a long history together that it doesn’t matter how much time goes by between seeing each other, it’s like no time has passed and we’re just goofy-ass kids again. I cherish all of our memories together and I’m so thankful to have grown up with this girl!

The night before our shoot, I texted Jessie to ask her and Sky to write eachother love notes to share at the shoot. When I asked them to read them, it was one of the most genuine sweet moments ever. They both had poured loving words into this small little moment together, and I’m so happy that they took my little task to heart.

Fast forward to this year, and I am so excited to capture their REAL wedding day in Sedona. Not everyone gets a practice round for the real thing, and if this is how their staged wedding went, I can only imagine their real wedding will be nothing short of magical.
