Golden Hour Engagement Session in the Flatirons

I was headed out to Colorado back in October to shoot a fall wedding—a few weeks prior, I got an email from an old co-worker, back from my Anthro days, who wanted me to shoot her wedding and asked if I could squeeze in some engagements while I was out there! I was so happy to hear from her, and to know that even after parting ways as co-workers, she still followed along with my work and thought of me to be their photographer on such a big day. They had eventually found out that their wedding date had changed, and I wasn’t available to shoot their wedding anymore—but they still wanted me to do their engagements, which meant the world to me!

We chose the flatirons at Chauatauqua in Boulder as our backdrop hoping to catch a little fall color. But, if you know Colorado, you know that one day can be 75° and gorgeous, and by the afternoon you find yourself in a blizzard in Sept/Oct. Thankfully, we got the most perfect golden fall day—we roamed through some tall grasses, and eventually made our way up Flagstaff rd. to get a little of the glow on the ridges of the flatirons with a little peak at a sliver of a moon following along with us. We drove up and down the mountain together talking about their wedding plans, and all the friends they’re so lucky to know from all over who would be making the trip out to Colorado for their big day. <3

Cheers to Katie + Luke!
